Behind our Name
In 2014, my husband Fred, gave me the nickname ‘B’, short for Beautiful. My son-in-love, Rafael, heard that and started calling me Bliss (a mix between B+Liz with an adorable toddler lisp). Every time he couldn’t see where I was at home, he would ask Fred, “Where’s Bliss?” To which Fred would respond, “Liz is in the Kitchen.” And, Rafa’s reply, “Bliss is in the Kitchen?” At that very moment, the inspiration behind name Bliss in the Kitchen was born. Finding food our family loves takes trial and error, and many meals of sampling. Over time, we found a lovely flow filled with wonderful dishes, but more importantly, memories and love at the table.
About BLISS
Howdy, My name is Liz King. I found a home in the kitchen at the age of 11, cooking for my 5 siblings and parents after my mom had a major surgery. I spent 13 years working in Corporate America as a CPA, always struggling to find that work life balance. For years, I ran on autopilot feeling lethargic, holding unwanted weight, and scrambling to figure out what & how to eat. As a food lover, I created Bliss in the Kitchen where I practice as a Nutrition Chef. I love to assist clients with healthy habit formation, including teaching basic cooking skills and shaping up their kitchen environment to one that helps them and their family thrive. I also cater private experiences with a focus on whole food healthy meals.
